FAQs

The trail is moderately challenging. It involves steep uphill climbs—particularly up Namche Hill and the final stretch to Tengboche—but does not require technical climbing skills or previous mountaineering experience.

While the maximum altitude is a manageable 3,867 meters (12,687 feet), altitude sickness (AMS) can still occur. Our itineraries include a mandatory acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar to ensure your body adjusts safely.

You need two specific permits: the Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality Permit and the Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit. We handle all permit logistics and paperwork for you, and the costs are fully included in your booking package.

Yes, under Nepal tourism regulations, all trekkers in the Khumbu region must be accompanied by a licensed local guide. Our professional guides ensure your safety, handle logistics, and offer rich cultural insights into the Sherpa way of life.

You will stay in cozy, family-run mountain lodges called teahouses. Rooms are basic but comfortable, typically with twin beds. The menus offer a mix of local and international meals, including traditional dal bhat, soups, pasta, eggs, and fresh bakery items.

The ideal seasons are Spring (March to May) and Autumn (September to November). Spring offers warmer weather and blooming rhododendron forests, while Autumn provides the crispest, clearest skies for mountain photography.
Good To know
  • Buffer Days: Always factor 2 extra cushion days into your overall travel itinerary. Lukla flights are frequently delayed or completely canceled due to sudden cloud cover, fog, or high winds.
  • Ramechhap (Manthali) Airport: During peak trekking seasons (Spring and Autumn), flights frequently divert out of Manthali Airport (a 4 to 5-hour drive from Kathmandu) instead of Kathmandu Airport to avoid domestic runway traffic.
