Day 01
Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport. A Himal Trek Nepal representative will meet you at the terminal and transfer you to your hotel. After checking in, take time to rest. In the evening, meet your licensed trekking guide for your pre- departure briefing. Sort out gear, finalize last-minute preparations, and ask questions before departure.
Day 02
Gear check and mandatory restricted area permit processing. Free day for self exploration.
Day 03
45-minute scenic flight followed by a 3-hour 4x4 jeep drive. Pass through local Brahmin and Chhetri farmlands to reach the peaceful ridge village of Chichila.
Day 04
Hike along a lush, forested ridge line with distant views of Mount Makalu’s black pyramid.
Day 05
Steep descent to the roaring Arun River, cross a suspension bridge, and climb uphill through bamboo groves to enter the National Park at Seduwa. Experience the agricultural life of the local Rai people.
Day 06
Walk past ancient many walls, terraced fields, and small streams. Enter Tashigaon, the last permanent settlement, inhabited purely by the local Sherpa community.
Day 07
Relentless vertical climb up stone stairs through mossy rhododendron and oak cloud forests to reach the alpine ridge line.
Day 08
Mandatory rest day to prepare your lungs for crossing the high passes tomorrow.
Day 09
Cross four distinct high passes, including the iconic Shipton La (4,216m) and Keke La. Enjoy sweeping views of Chamlang, Peak 6, and Peak 7 before dropping down to Dobato.
Day 10
Descend through old-growth pine forests into the jaw-dropping Barun Valley—a deep glacial trough flanked by towering vertical granite cliffs.
Day 11
A long, steady climb past the tree line. Walk through alpine juniper pastures, moving alongside massive, active glaciers and freezing streams to reach the high pasture camp at Shersong.
Day 12
An epic, challenging day. Push forward onto the rocky moraine to reach Makalu Base Camp (4,870m). Stand directly at the foot of Mount Makalu’s colossal, vertical south face (8,485m). After taking in the views, turn around and make a long descent back down to the richer air of Yangle Kharka.
Day 13
Climb back out of the deep river valley floor to the stone shelters of Dobato.
Day 14
Cross the high, rocky alpine passes one final time before dropping down to the ridge at Khongma.

Drop into the Arun River gorge, complete the final steep climb up to Num, and meet your 4x4 jeep to drive back to the regional hub of Tumlingtar.

Hotel check-out and international airport transfer. The Experience: Enjoy your final breakfast in Kathmandu. A Himal Trek Nepal representative will pick you up from your hotel and transfer you to Tribhuvan International Airport exactly three hours before your scheduled flight time, marking the conclusion of your journey.
